First come, first served!

Over here at Bridge to Books, we don't just sit back and rest on the success of one event.  We are already off and planning for our next event.  This time we are targeting Middle Grade readers as well as parents, teachers, and librarians.

Theme: Graphic Novels
We know children love graphic novels and respond well to this form of visual storytelling.  This afternoon workshop will have a two-fold purpose.  Children will have an opportunity to meet and interact with several local graphic novelists and create some of their own illustrations and stories in the Studio.  Adults will participate in a Workshop to learn about how to use Graphic Novels in the classroom, at home or in other places to promote and support children's reading.

Guest Author/Illustrators:

Children ages 7 to 12 (please contact us at if you have a child younger than 7 or older than 12 and you would like to inquire about their participation in the event)
Teachers, Librarians, or Parents (or any adult interested in using Graphic Novels to promote reading)

Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Armory Center for the Arts
      145 North Raymond Avenue
      Pasadena, CA 91106

We are thrilled to be able to partner with The Armory Center for the Arts to host this event.  The Armory has worked to establish a strong partnership with schools and the community to bring the visual arts to life.  It is a great way to introduce children and adults to the work of the Armory while promoting literacy.

Updates will be posted right here... soon!
